Dragon Ball Super: Destruction

Before Merus and Trunks work on any cases, Merus requested Trunks, "Before we go, I would like to see your strength."

Trunks replied, "Of course. If Whis recognizes you, you must have some techniques. I also sense some strange ki from you. Let's move to a place where we can go all out."

Merus agreed, saying, "Yes, there is a planet I know nearby. Let's go."

They used their high-speed ship and flew there. Jaco also joined them, saying, "I'm his superior. I would like to see how he can work on the same case as Merus."

They reached the planet, which was empty. Both took their positions, and Jaco watched from afar.

The fight began. Trunks took the initiative and attacked first in his base form. He was pretty fast, but Merus avoided his attacks. Jaco, who could easily follow their moves, remarked, "Wow, they are fast. I hope this Saiyan is not evil. Well, if he was, Merus would have known." The fight continued.

Trunks kept forcing himself hard in his base form, and parts of the planet started shattering.

Trunks said, "You are fast. How long can you keep avoiding my attacks? I feel like I'm sparring against Whis."

Merus replied, "Nah, I'm not even close to the angel Whis. But you are pretty fast, I have to say. And I heard you can even transform. Just show me that form."

Trunks responded, "Oh, I'm not finished yet. If you want, why not force me to transform?"

Merus agreed, "Well, if you want."

Trunks went and punched him, but it was just an afterimage. Merus came behind Trunks, surprising him. Merus punched him in the back, sending Trunks flying through multiple mountains and destroying them.

Merus said, "So, will you show me now, or will the next attack be the end of your match today?"

Trunks, huffing and beat up, stood up. "How can I be beaten this much with just one punch, even after that much training? I have to go all out."

Trunks transformed into a Super Saiyan, and Merus sensed a strong power coming from him.

Merus remarked, "So now we are talking. Come on, we don't have all day for this."

Trunks replied, "Oh, I will pay you back for that punch."

Trunks disappeared and appeared in front of Merus with his punch almost near his face. But Merus just shifted his head aside and dodged it, saying, "That was fast."

Trunks started punching and kicking, while Merus dodged all his attacks. Trunks, tired of this, transformed into Super Saiyan 2.

Merus noted, "Your power shot up once again. Is this another transformation? You look similar, just with more spiked hair."

Jaco commented, "Wow, he is strong. Just the shockwaves from his punch are destroying this planet. I hope they end this fight before the planet is destroyed."

Trunks explained, "Yeah, this is a transformation, but from what Whis said, it seems more like an evolved Super Saiyan than a transformation. But all that aside, this is my all."

Merus acknowledged, "I get it. I have to say, you are strong. Stronger than many of my foes I've ever fought. But there are many foes who are stronger than you, and some are inside the prison of the Galactic Patrol. Well, let's end it."

Trunks exclaimed, "What! You fought multiple opponents stronger than me, even after all those years of training? Well, for now, this is my all."

He dashed at full speed again to punch Merus, but he still kept avoiding. Trunks started shooting his ki balls, which Merus dodged, but it was a diversion. Merus found himself surrounded by ki balls, all of them moving towards him. He was surprised but continued dodging.

Merus said, "Well, I have seen enough."

He dashed and punched Trunks in the gut, knocking his transformation out, and sending him flying through mountains.

Merus surrounded his punch with ki and said, "Good night."

As he moved towards him to deliver the final blow, Trunks suddenly moved and avoided the punch, seemingly transformed.

Merus exclaimed, "What! He dodged, and what's with the red hair? Did he transform? His ki seems different, like god ki."

Jaco exclaimed, "What! I almost lost his movement in all that dust, but he was fast. And what's with this look?"

Trunks said, "Woah, I feel different, just like Dad. Well, I think I can at least knock him once."

He dashed towards Merus again, but this time, in his god form, he was too fast for Merus to dodge. Trunks scratched his face, surprising both of them.

Trunks said, "Finally touched you. Next time..."

Before he finished, Trunks was knocked out of his transformation, his pupils rolling over, and he passed out.

Merus said, "Oh, sorry."

Jaco commented, "What was that? Trunks' fist was almost at Merus's face, but he's the one who got knocked out. And now he's lying there like a dead man. That was some hard punch by Merus. And what was that strange aura? He was too fast, and look at that, the punch almost destroyed half of the planet."

Merus thought, "Oh my, my instinct kicked in, and it was unintentional. I'm surprised he's still alive. Brother Whis must have trained him hard enough."

Merus said into his microphone, "Jaco, come down. We're going back to HQ."

Jaco came down, and they took Trunks back. Trunks woke up after a few hours, and Jaco was near him.

Trunks asked, "What happened? Where is Merus?"

Jaco replied, "Well, he reported back to HQ about you. You'll be officially joining his team. For now, he's already gone on some mission."

Merus flew towards a planet...
